ABOUT MARIAH
Mariah Reed directs plays and teaches voice and acting classes at Broward College where she is a three-time Endowed Teaching Chair award recipient and tenured faculty member. Mariah toured the continental United States as a lead actress with the National Shakespeare Company and afterward appeared in a number of Off- and Off-off Broadway productions, touring theatre presentations, and independent films. One of her assignments brought her to Florida where she founded two Equity theatre companies (the New River Repertory and The Drama Center). Mariah continues to act professionally while sharing with students what she has learned through her educational experiences as well as her hands-on adventures as a working actress in film, television, and live theatre. A certified Meisner Acting Coach (True Acting Institute) and certified Fitzmaurice Voice Coach, Mariah teaches Voice, Acting, Audition Technique, Shakespeare’s Verse Text, Performance Lab classes, and On-Camera Acting Technique. She has also written several original musicals that have been produced at Broward College to much acclaim. In her free time, Mariah is a director, and acting/voice/dialect coach for professional actors, film and television projects, and professional theatre presentations. A proud member of AEA, SAG/AFTRA, the Dramatists Guild and VASTA, Ms. Reed is represented by the Applegate Agency and Martin and Donalds Talent Agency in Hollywood, Florida.
