ABOUT MARIAH

Mariah Reed has directed plays in both higher education and in professional theatre.  She is also a certified Fitzmaurice Voice coach and certified Meisner Acting Instructor.  A three-time Endowed Teaching Chair award recipient and Professor of the Year at Broward College, Mariah recently left higher education to focus on professional theatre and TV/Film projects in the Philadelphia area. After touring the continental United States as a lead actress with the National Shakespeare Company, she appeared in a number of Off- and Off-off Broadway productions, touring theatre presentations, LORT productions, and independent films. She also founded two Equity theatre companies (the New River Repertory and The Drama Center). Several of Mariah's original musicals have been produced at Broward College to much acclaim. Most recently, Mariah completed the Intimacy Director certification training at IDC and she has enjoyed assisting several professional and college theatre companies as an ID.  A proud member of AEA, SAG/AFTRA, and the Dramatists Guild, Ms. Reed is represented by the Applegate Agency and Martin and Donalds Talent Agency in Hollywood, Florida.
